White wines of France

White wines of France tour via Zoom: Spring – Summer 2021

Taste your way through four of the major white-wine producing regions of France, from the comfort of your home!   We will start with an overview of the wine region, complete with photos, and then will savor together some of its delicious white wines. 

Wines will be available at most Total Wine & More locations (information to come once you’ve signed up).   Below are the four featured regions and dates:

(This introductory course covering the basics of wine tasting and deciphering French wine labels is recommended before embarking on any of the workshops below, unless you already grasp the introductory topics covered).

 

  • White wines of the Loire Valley       Workshop & tasting (around 1.5 hours total)   
    • Thursday, June 3        7:30pm until around 9pm, EST
  • White wines of Bordeaux    Workshop & tasting (around 1.5 hours total)
    • Date TBA        7:30pm until around 9pm, EST
  • White wines of Burgundy      Workshop & tasting (around 1.5 hours total)
    • Date TBA    7:30pm until around 9pm, EST   
  • White wines of Alsace     Workshop & tasting (around 1.5 hours total)

How to register:

1)  Contact me and let me know which workshop(s) you would like to attend (see schedule above), and I will email you to confirm your spot.  

2)  About a week before the workshop, I will email you the Zoom link and the specifications for which wines to purchase (and optional cheeses) which you will then obtain on your own in advance of the workshop.

  • Wines (required) will be available at Total Wines & More (either Lexington Green or Hamburg in Lexington), and can be picked up via contactless curbside pickup free of charge.
  • Information about accompanying cheeses (optional) and where to purchase/order will also be provided.

 

About the instructor: Inspired by visits to vineyards in many countries over the years, Laura has a growing interest in wine, and particularly loves the relationship between wine and region. She has taken a wine workshop in Bordeaux, France (2017), has participated in a four-part, live webinar series on a variety of topics related to wine and viticulture, Vigne et Vin (2019) through the Université de Tours, France, and earned a wine tasting certification from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET), globally recognized as the international standard in wine and spirit education.
